Deal of the Day - Coastal Scents

Hi ladies!  Happy Friday!  I hope you've all had a great week!  It's been a busy one for me, so as always, I am looking forward to the weekend!  I don't have any special plans, but that's okay!  I just like to hang out with my hubby and the kids (even my furry kids) and take it easy!

I wanted to take a quick moment to say thank you to all of my followers.  I'm up to 35 and I can't believe it!  Thanks for reading and commenting!  It means a lot to me!  I'm enjoying reading your blogs as well!  I learn so much from all of you guys and hope that I can pass on little tidbits to you too!

Okay, so as always, I like to share any "deals" that I am aware of.  I am sure most of you are familiar with Coastal Scents and their Friday sales.  If not, here is this week's info.

Sale expires 8/2/2010 at Midnight

Dupe for OPI's Metro Chic Polish?

I was at CVS last week...well, I'm always at CVS, but anyway...I was there last week and I was looking at the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polishes.  I picked up the color Commander In Chic.  I figured I'd give it a shot.  I'm not real particular when it comes to nail polish.

When I got home I realized that Commander In Chic looks a lot like OPI's Metro Chic which is really popular.  For those of you who don't know what Metro Chic looks like..it's a really unique color.  It's a grey/purple color.  It's been around for quite some time and still is one of my fave colors!

Here is a pic of both Commander in Chic and Metro Chic:

Pretty darn close, huh?

Here are some swatches:

Metro Chich is a little darker, but I'm sold! What do you guys think?

Now the price difference between the two is not great.  OPI retails for $9 while Sally Hansen retails for $7.99.  The positive about the Sally Hansen polish is that you can purchase them at CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens or whatever your local drugstore might be.  Often, they have really good deals, like Buy One Get One Free or Buy One Get One 50% Off.  In the end, you end up saving a few bucks....and that's what I'm talking about!!!!  I love a good bargain!

Review - Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer

What is the Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer?

A salmon colored concealer that is supposed to conceal those nasty undereye circles that many of us have, whether due to lack of sleep, stress, genetics, etc.  Retail price is $35.00 for 3.25 g or $42.00 for 6.2 g.  There are 5 different shades available for different skin tones and you can purchase this and other Eve Pearl products at http://www.evepearl.com/

Product Information from website:  http://www.evepearl.com/

No more dark circles! Revolutionizing the use of the “Salmon” or pinky/peach color as an under eye concealer to neutralize the dark blue undertones from the skin. (Yellows mixed with the blue undertones create those greenish/grey raccoon eyes that are highlighted and only accentuate the problem area.)
This luxurious silky cream provides full coverage with a non-greasy texture that glides on smooth to the most delicate area of your face. It offers the advantages of the powerful anti-oxidant, AstaReal®/Astaxanthin - a key ingredient in the CosmeNutrient® Complex.

Ideal for use when flawless precision is required with High Definition cameras and real life.

For most skin types, including sensitive skin.

AstaREAL®, the key ingredient in Eve Pearl’s CosmeNutrient® Complex, it is the most recognized brand of Astaxanthin. AstaReal® is not only a coloring agent; it is also a very potent anti-oxidant.

Naturally harvested from the micro algae Haematococcus pluvial is- a single cell plant at the very beginning of the food chain.

An all natural carotenoid pigment and provides strongest natural antioxidant protection against lipid peroxidation* and singlet oxygen**.

1000 times stronger than vitamin E for lipid peroxidation.

550 times stronger than vitamin E and 40 times stronger beta-carotene for singlet oxygen quenching.

Provides support for skin at the cellular level.

Helps to improve skin naturally.... no harsh chemicals.... no dangerous procedures.

Helps to fight the effects of the aging process.

Has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce burn levels after UVB exposure.

Contributes to the reduction of hyper-pigmentation.

Protects body tissue from oxidation.

Ingredients:

CAPRIC/CAPRYLIC TRIGLYCERIDE, OCTYLDODECANOL, POLYMETHYL METHACRYLATE, ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE, PETROLATUM, BEESWAX, OZOKERITE WAX, HAEMATOCOCCUS PLUVIALIS EXTRACT (ASTAXANTHIN/AstaREAL®), SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL, MICA (and) SILICA (and) DIMETHICONE, NYLON-12, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE (VITAMIN E), PROPYLPARABEN, BHT, MAY CONTAIN: TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), IRON OXIDES (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), D&C RED 6 LAKE (CI 15850), D&C RED 7 LAKE (CI 15850), FD&C YELLOW 5 (CI 19140), ULTRAMARINES (CI 77007)

My Opinion?

This has become my HG concealer!!!  Alleluyah!!  Yes, I love it.  I have been using it for over a week now and I don't think I will use anything else for my undereye circles.  The product completely conceals my undereye circles and the coverage lasts all day.

The texture of the product is like BUTTAH!  My goodness!  It is so creamy and soft.  It really does "glide on smooth", which is perfect when dealing with the skin under your eyes.  We all know that the skin under the eyes is very delicate and unfortunately, the first area where you will notice signs of aging.  ERRR!!  I'm already there!  YUCK!

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this concealer and plan to purchase it again.  Eve, please don't ever discontinue this product!

Eve Pearl's Salmon Concealer gets a rating of 5 out of 5:

Let me know if you would be interested in seeing an actual tutorial on this. I was going to write one out, but I think it's so much easier for the viewer when you can actually see what is going on versus reading about it.  I've only done videos for youtube for contests and I think I've deleted all but one. If there is enough interest, I can definitely start doing tutorials to post here on my blog.

Hope you guys all have a wonderful weekend!  Please let me know if you have any questions on this look or any of the products I used.

Deal of the Day...Illamasqua

Illamasqua.com is offering a 50% discount on items that will soon be discontinued.  I picked up a few items and am waiting for them to come in the mail.  I might have to hide them from the hubby!  HA!!  I'll do a haul post once I receive.

Offer ends July 30th!  Don't miss out!

Anyway, here is the ad:

Amy's Wedding

I wanted to post some pictures of my friend Amy's wedding from Memorial Day weekend. I did her makeup and her mother's makeup.  They looked so beautiful.

This was the first time I had an actual makeup gig! Tip for next time: Bring a personal fan! LOL! It was so hot in the hotel room and we were rushing because we got started on the makeup kinda late. Anyway, I was sweating so bad...not a good look for me! HA!! I managed to live through it and so did Amy!

Now on to the makeup...

Amy wanted to go for a more dramatic look for her big day versus the traditional soft brown and peach colors. She wanted red lips and a purple soft smokey eye...and that's what I gave her. LOL! Not many women can rock a red lip....Amy can rock it like no one! On her cheeks, I kept it simple with a natural color since she had so much drama in the eyes and lips! Woo hoo!

As for her mom, I did a pink/light plum combination on her eyes which went really well with her skin tone. For her cheeks, I used a cool pink/plum color and for her lips I went with a wine color and applied it lightly.

Overall, it was a lot of fun and great experience for me! I could see myself doing this on a full time basis.

I wish I could have gotten some good closeup shots of the eye makeup.  If I do get my hands on any, I will be sure to post.
I love this picture. She was on the balcony looking down at everyone...getting ready to walk down.

Shopping In Your Own Makeup Stash

I don't know about you guys, but when I got sucked into watching makeup tutorials on Youtube back in January 2008...my bank account screamed...."Oh shit!  Here we go!"

I've always had a decent sized stash, but once Youtube and I began our love affair, I think I was at MAC, Sephora, Ulta and any other place I could find makeup, TOO often.  I HAD to own every product that was used in a tutorial!  HA!  It was pretty bad!

Now that it's been over two years since my collection quadrupled, I've started slowing down a little.  I am not giving into EVERYTHING I see, but I could definitely slow down some more.  Sorry, beauty items are my CRACK and I can't stop buying.  I get the shakes and other not so attractive withdrawal symptoms!  HA!

Okay..so what is the point of this post?  Well, I will tell you!  I need to start shopping in my own stash!  Instead of running out to buy that new shade of eyeshadow, I really need to look through my stash and determine if I have something similar already.  Also, I need to actually use the stuff I buy.  I have so much stuff that has never been touched.  It's pretty sick actually!

So here's the deal!  Starting this Saturday, I will be "Shopping In My Own Stash" and will be posting the FOTD using my stash items!  I'm gonna pull out some oldies but goodies....Stay Tuned!!

Review - Bubble Babez Bath Company, LLC

What is Bubble Babez Bath Company, LLC?

It's a wonderful new company that specializes in creating affordable homemade Soaps, Sugar Scrubs, Bath Bombs, Bath Truffles, Lotion Bars, and Pedicure Packages  ....and they smell AMAZING!!  You may know one of the owners from youtube.  Her name is nikkie20six .

About the Company (Directly from the BubbleBabez.com Website)

The Bubble Babez Bath Company LLC is a very family oriented business; they even get the kids involved. The company is based out of Milford, a quaint little town located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Bubble Babez was first established in early February of 2010 by two hard working females, Nicole Davis and Tristan Jackson. Nicole envisioned the idea of creating homemade soaps when trying to put together swag bag for Tristan, birthday party. After ruling out many expensive options, she decided to try and make something on my own. Nicole narrowed the swag bag options to either small cupcakes or soap. Well needless to say she went with the soap idea and actually made the soaps smell like the cup cakes. I guess you could say she wanted the best of both worlds.

After the party, the feedback Nicole was receiving encouraged her to get serious about making soaps. Well one thing led to another and she and her family were on their way to creating a homemade bath and body business. Since then Nicole, Tristan, and family have been diligently working to formulate the highest quality of bath and body products to best suit their future customers. Every item on their menu has been tested thoroughly by friends, closest family members, and first and foremost themselves.

The name Bubble Babez originated from two particular places. They choose Bubble because of course because you are dealing with soaps; and like Nicole firmly believes if you don't see bubbles it's not clean. The name Babez came about because that is Nicole and Tristan's official name for each other. So they put the two together and you have, Bubble Babez.

My Opinion

I  am in love with this company and its products.  I recently ordered two soap bars - Berry Berry Shortcake and Pretty in Pink!  They smell divine and retail for only $6 each!  Wow!  I really just wanna eat them.

Berry Berry Shortcake:

At your first glance, you'll think you were just offered a fresh piece of strawberry shortcake. This delicious blend of aromatic berries will leave you drooling at the mouth and feeling refreshingly clean.

Ingrediants:  Sodium Cocoate, Sodium Palmate, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter), Sorbitol, Sorbitan Oleate, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Protein, Titanium Dioxide

Pretty In Pink:

Naomi or as I call her Na said you know what would be a great idea? If you made a soap that smelled similar to Viva La Juicy. Its a girly goats milk soap with all things a girl loves: pink, sparkle and sweet.

Price List

All of the items on the website retail from $4-$8 for the individual products.  The pedicure package retails for $35.

Customer Service

Excellent!  Shortly after placing my order, I received a Customer Receipt and a day later, I'm pretty sure I received a shipping notification with a tracking number.  I can't seem to find it in my e-mail, but I am almost positive I did receive one.

The products were received within a week and were packaged so cute in pastel colored tissue paper!  I love it!  A thank you card was included from the owners as well as a business card.

To top it all off, there were two yummy smelling samples included in my order.  I was totally not expecting that, so what an awesome surprise!

Overall, I am really impressed and will continue to purchase from BubbleBabez.com.  Move over LUSH...
Off to take a shower with my new goodies!!

BubbleBabez.com gets a rating of 5 out of 5!  Woo hoo!!
