Tickle Me Pink Nails

Hey everyone!  I feel like I haven't had time to blog the past few days! Geez! Life gets so busy and hectic sometimes, but alas...I'm here!!

I just want to share my nail look!  I'm really not into "nails" a whole lot.  I mean, I try to keep them looking half decent, but they are nothing special!  I did my nails on Sunday and love the bubble gum pink color, so I figured I'd share!!  The color I used is from the Ulta Professional Line and the color is Tickle Me.

I gotta tell ya! I applied a Base Coat, 3 coats of the color ( No Top Coat) and here it's almost Wednesday, and there is no chipping! I'm impressed! Normally my nails chip within 24 hours.

Hope you like!  Hope you're all enjoying your week!  I'll be back tomorrow with a really cool FOTD!!  Gotta run now! Gotta get the kiddos to bed!!

It's about time...for Project 10 Pan!!

Hi everyone!  Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  I was pretty busy with my family! My 13 year old had her tonsils removed last Thursday so my husband and I have been taking care of her.  Poor baby! Popsicles and Ice Cream are great, but it's already getting old and she is ready to start eating real meals.  She's been trying to eat soft foods, but is still having a difficult time swallowing any foods.  Hopefully she will be feeling much better within the next few days!

On to my post now...Ahhh! Yes, the infamous Project 10 Pan Program that many beauty addicts turn to as their rehab program!  HA!  Just in case you don't know what this program is, here is the general idea of the program:  You can't make any makeup purchases until you've "Hit Pan" (completely used up at least 10 makeup products)!! I posted about this back in November of 2009.  I started the program, and did have some success, but I kinda cheated a little, so this time I am taking it seriously.  No shortcuts!!

So what prompted this?  Well, I've been doing some cleaning and reorganizing the last couple of weeks and through the process, I've determined that I just have ridiculous amounts of makeup.  It's a little embarrassing honestly.  I have a good job and the bills are always paid; the kids and home are always taken care of, so I know that I should treat myself from time to time, but this is just too much!  I finished reorganizing last night and thought, "Good God!!  I have enough crap to last a few lifetimes and I'm not even a Makeup Artist (although I'd love to be)!"  As a result, I am going into Makeup Rehab AKA Project 10 Pan

I know this is going to be hard for me, but it HAS to be done.  I should really be focusing on the items I have.  I mean, how many more freakin' shades of purple (or any other color) eyeshadow can there possibly be out there!? I'm sure I already have them all!  Geez!

So with that said, I have officially checked into rehab and will be keeping you all posted on the ups and downs! I know there are new collections, new products, etc., that will be coming up in the fall, but I have to remember that there will ALWAYS be new collections, products, etc.!  If I miss something, chances are that same item will probably be re-released in a different package or perhaps something even better will be released at some point in time when I am released from Makeup Rehab!

Wish Me Luck!!

Review - Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush

I recently purchased three Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blushes and have been wearing them for several days now.  I wanted to have at least a week of wearing them before jumping on here to tell you guys what I think! Below is some information on the product:

Directly from the Tarte Cosmetics website:

These solar-baked blushes are infused with Amazonian Clay, nature's most perfect ingredient. These nutrient rich and skin-nourishing Amazonian clay blushes restore harmony for a flawless finish that lasts all day.
The soft blush is great for all skin types:
Oily skin: Amazonian clay minimizes oil in and around pores to balance skin and keep product in place.
Dry skin: Amazonian clay hydrates skin naturally to restore moisture so your blush wears better & longer.
Dull skin: Amazonian clay improves the appearance of skin clarity and skin texture.
Combination skin: Amazonian clay is completely intuitive; gives skin an overall smooth & even appearance.
Skinvigorating™ ingredients
Amazonian Clay: nature’s most perfect ingredientt providing total skin balance.
Beeswax: as an alternative to synthetic waxes, natural beeswax is used as a waterproofing agent, a protective barrier between the skin and the environment and it has also been know to naturally stimulate collagen production which plumps the skin and decreases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Vitamin C: antioxidant that fights free radical damage and prevents oxidative stress and premature signs of aging, while brightening skin.
Vitamin E: natural preservative that also acts as an anti-inflammatory emollient and protects against free radical damage.
Skinvigorating™ benefits
Formulated without mineral oil
Formulated without paraben
Formulated without phthalates
Cruelty free
Formulated without sodium lauryl sulfate
Formulated without synthetic fragrance

The three shades I purchased are:

Peaceful (Shimmery Rose/Peach)

Amused (Matte Bright Pink)

Blissful (Matte Peach)

In total there are 8 blushes!  The shade Peaceful may have been an exclusive to QVC with the set I purchased because I don't see that one on the Tarte site.

Each blush retails for $25.00 (for 0.20 Oz. each) on the Tarte Cosmetics website, Sephora, and Ulta.  I purchased mine from QVC, so I got a different deal.  Two of the blushes (Amused and Blissful) came with a full size blush brush for $29.50 each.  The third blush (Peaceful) came in the Glow Your Way to Gorgeous set which I purchased with several other pieces, for $49.92.  I'm telling ya....QVC is the way to go peeps!!  Amazing deals!!  ...and no, I am not affiliated with QVC in ANY way.  I'm just a big fan and want to share this info with you so you can also take advantage of the great deals I am getting! Also, keep in mind that Tarte Cosmetics has some really great sales on their website throughout the year.  The discounts are between 20% and 40%.  Definitely sign up for their e-mails if interested in any future sales.

Moving on...so as I mentioned; I've been using the blushes now for about a week and I freakin LOVE them!!  First let me start with the packaging/compact itself.  I think it's adorable!  The Tarte logo is on the front and I love how the color of the packaging matches the color of the blush.  Very smart there Tarte!!  You're making my life a little easier in the mornings when I am rushing to get out the door. Thank you!

When you open the compact, you've got your little mirror on one side which always comes in handy for touch ups and on the other side, you've got your handy dandy blush!  The blush has a pretty design embossed on it.  I assume it's the Amazon river?!!  I almost don't want to use the blushes for fear that the design will eventually fade.  I'm a dork!  I know!

As for as how they wear, I gotta say "Believe the Hype!!" This is a highly pigmented blush and it really does last 12 hours.  At least it does for me.  Typically I apply my blush early in the morning before work (about 8am) and by 2pm, I don't really have much left.  With these particular blushes, the color lasts ALL day.  I am definitely in love!!  As far as the colors; no they are nothing special.  I am sure you can find similar colors in other brands, but is the staying power the same?  Probably not!

If you give these a try, let me know what you think! I'd love to hear from you!

Talk to you soon!

QVC Haul - Tarte Cosmetics

Hey ladies and any gents out there!  I just received my order from QVC just a few days ago and wanted to share with you all.  In case you don't know what QVC is; it is a televised shopping network and is absolutely fabulous!  You can purchase just about anything from there:  Home Goods, Electronics, Clothing, Jewelry, Beauty items, etc.  Of course the reason I am hooked is because of the Beauty Products!  Well duh!  HA!!

Recently QVC had a promotion going on with Tarte Cosmetics for the Glow Your Way to Gorgeous 8-piece collection and it was an offer I couldn't pass up.

There are actually more pieces in this collection than pictured. I don't know if this has do to with it being a QVC promotion or something that was just thrown in last minute, but I also received a bronzer and a bottle of pure marajuca oil.

The cost of the collection was ONLY $49.92 and included in the collection were eight FULL SIZE Products in addition to the makeup bag and 3 smaller products.  So in total there were 12 Pieces to this collection! How can you beat that for $49.92??!!!

So here is what you get:

  1. Purple Makeup Bag
  2. Full Size Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush - Peaceful
  3. Full Size Lipsurgence Lip Luster - Sweet
  4. Full Size Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara - Black
  5. Full Size SmolderEyes Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner
  6. Full Size Foundation Brush
  7. Full Size Flat Shader Brush
  8. Full Size Waterproof Amazonian Clay Cream Eyeshadow - Shimmering Taupe
  9. Full Size Maracuja Creaseless Concealer
  10. Small Bottle of Maracuja Oil
  11. Sharpener
  12. Small Mineral Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess (remember this from my June faves?)

I'm so excited to try this stuff out! If anyone is interested, I can do a full review on the products.  I know I already have one in the works for the Amazonian Clay blushes since I had already previously purchased two of the blushes and am currently testing them out.

I hope you'll check out QVC if it's available in your area.  If not; you can always shop on their website.  I find there are a lot of sets/collections that are great deals and typically exclusive to QVC.  One of the things that may entice some to purchase from QVC is the Easy Pay Option.  For many products, you can break up your payments for most items into more than one payment.  That definitely makes it easier at times, especially if you're purchasing an expensive item.

Let me know if you guys check out QVC.  It's become one of my fave shops!!

June Favorites!!

Since everyone and their Grandmother does "Favorites" videos and blog posts, and I absolutely love watching and reading about everyone's favorites, I thought, "Hmmm!  Why not start blogging about MY favorites each month?!" So here I am sharing with you all...my Faves for the month of June!!  Check em out!

In no particular order...

Clinique Skincare Products
I have been using Clinique's 3 Step System which includes the Liquid Facial Soap, Clarifying Lotion and Moisturizing Gel.  In conjunction with the 3 Step System, I am using the Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser (to remove face makeup) and Pore Refining Solutions Correcting Serum (targets large pores).

I've been very happy with all of these products.  I think they work well with my skin - not too harsh, no breakouts, etc.  I used the 3 Step System back in 1999, but found that the Clarifying Lotion was a bot harsh for my skin.  Their formulas have changed since then...and for the better!!

Next up...

Bare Minerals Foundation SPF 15
I admit it!  I have a love/hate relationship with this foundation.  I have been using it off and on for a few years now.  This is typically my Summer foundation because it feels light, has SPF 15, and provides great coverage.  What I hate:  the coverage doesn't really last as long as I'd like it to.  I wish it would last all day at work, but I find that by 2pm, the oils take over...Ugh!  Overall, I do love this foundation though!

Clinique Superbalanced Powder Makeup SPF 15
I just purchased this at the end of May with the Superbalanced Foundation (which I also love BTW).  Maybe I'll add that to my July favorites! It's a great setting powder for foundation.  It leaves my skin so soft, with great coverage and not cakey at all!

Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer
If you'll notice...in almost every single FOTD I've posted, I've used this product.  This has to be my favorite concealer of ALL TIME!!  It's my HG concealer for sure.  It's not too thick or too light; covers my undereye circles PERFECTLY and stays put ALL day! The only negative is the price which is $37.50, but a little goes a long way so it does last a long time for me.

MAC Eyebrow Pencil
I was using the Anastasia brow pencil, and absolutely LOVED it, but I decided the give the MAC pencil a shot and LOVE it as well.  The MAC pencil costs $5 less than the Anastasia pencil, so I've found my new love!  HA!!  The color Spiked is perfect for my brows! Exact match!

The Infamous Urban Decay Primer Potion
I do really like this product a lot, but by no means do I think it's God's Gift to eyeshadow primers.  I think it does a great job as do many other primers in the market.  For me, I have found that most primers work well!  I know that is not true for everybody though.  It's in my faves because I did use this primer the most out of all my other primers!

Last but not least...

Tarte Mineral Powder Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess
I've had this product in my stash for sometime but just rediscovered it this past month.  It's a perfect bronzer for my olive skin tone.  It gives me the perfect bronzey/glowy effect without looking orange or too shimmery.  There is definitely some shimmer there, but it's not overpowering at all.

Well, that wraps up my faves for the month of June.  Hope you enjoyed!
