Rant about MakeupAlley

Oh my goodness! Sometimes I really wish I could reach out and slap some of the women who swap on MakeupAlley. I mean the ones who think that MAC cosmetics is "God's Gift" to cosmetics. If people really believe that, then they are missing out on a lot of great cosmetics out there from low end to high end. Don't get me wrong...MAC is probably my favorite brand, however, I am not a makeup snob at all. I have a little bit of everything in my collection.

Anyway, the point of this post it to vent about something that just happened on MakeupAlley. So, I recently received a request from another MUA'er to swap for my Brand New Revlon Colorstay Foundation. Keep in mind that my foundation has never been used, tested, or opened. I bought it over the summer, but now that I am back to being pale, I just don't need it.

I looked over the girl's list and there were a couple lower end products and the rest were all MAC. The only item that I was interested in was a MAC mini 228 brush that.....check this out....was received in a swap...handle has slight wear and the letters are starting to wear off.

I respond to the girl's request and ask if we could swap for the MAC mini 228 brush. She then responds to my request and tells me that swapping a Revlon foundation for a MAC brush does not sound fair to her.

Are you kidding me? I respond back to her to let her know that yes, I do think the swap is fair considering that my foundation is brand new; cost me $12 and her brush is not full size, is used and is not in perfect condition. I haven't received a response, but at this point, it doesn't matter. I just wanted her to know what I thought.

I am curious about this topic now. I know no one reads this blog, but if you ever come across this entry, I would love it if you would share your thoughts. I am curious!
